School Board Meeting Oct 5/Race to the Top

The School Board’s Race to the Top Work Plan is on the agenda for the Tuesday, October 5 School Board of Hillsborough County meeting at 3 PM at 901 E. Kennedy Blvd. Members of the public can share their ideas with the school board members during the meeting should they choose to do so on behalf of students.
There are a number of other items on the agenda recommended for board approval. The attached PDF file shows where some of our tax dollars for education are going.
I will likely speak during the public comment section, wondering when some item that focuses on black male achievement will appear on the school board agenda. My comments this time will be about black male participation in Pre-GED programs in Hillsborough County.
